Root: Lud / Lus : Latin : from ludere "to play", ludum "play game"

Interlude: between games. Inter (between) + lude (game)

Delusion: deception. Something that plays tricks on a person.

Allude: To refer broadly or indirectly. Music, art, writing, performances often, if not always, are based on or make references to previous works. They "play off of" what we know.

Collusion: a secret agreement or conspiracy for an illegal or deceptive purpose. Based on Col, from con = with, thus it contains the meaning "play along with".

Ludicrous: laughable because of clear absurdity, falseness, or foolishness.

Prelude: a performance, action, event or piece of music that precedes and prepares for the more important thing that follows. Pre = before. Thus prelude is "before play or before game"
